What does a GT STS 1000 DS ride like?

I bought a GT STS 1000 DS complete bike as I wanted a few parts from it, I was planning on selling the frame.
As per the usual custom I took it for a short 200 meter run near my house. I was expecting it to be s**t but in the short ride it felt pretty good, I'm now wondering if I should keep it?

So, what does yours ride like?

i have an lts 3 and an lts dh both ride fantastically , very like a modern
5" travel bike , i have bought an sts dh frame recently and in the process of building it

this started with the lts 3

can you tell i like them ?

Travel is adjusted by reversing the plastic "chips" that anchor the trunion pins.

I rode an LTS-2000 until a few years back and I always felt that it stood up well in comparison to modern full suspension bikes of similar travel in almost everything other than weight as it was pretty heavy. It did have the upgraded shock and BETD suspension kit (which was a revelation) on it though.

I would think the STS could be a viable medium travel bike provided the carbon fibre is in decent nick.
