What do you hate seeing on a gorgeous retro bike?

I hate acres of exposed seat post. Buy a bike that fits. Don't lever away that the frame like a tool, cos one day in the future it will fail and deprive our grandchildren of a Retrobike to enjoy.

Anodised (purple) parts. They looked trashy and out of place bitd and still do.

Plenty of us rode with long seat posts back in 90s as it was thought to be better to have a smaller bike for strength/manoeuvrability.

purple u.s.e posts mix that with Snowflake laced wheels and Panaracer Magic Tyres

Exposed seatposts yes please, who would want to hide a lovely syncros post
in a frame , i ride 20"/ 21" and have very long posts ,and legs

Limp dick stems and drops are acceptable
