I use riser bars. I reckon it would be way cooler to have a flat bar just like when I raced xc. But then I was 17 and the using a flat bar and negative headset was what you HAD to use on competition to handle the steepness of some hills and to look as pro as the rest of the others (looks count too!).
My group of friends didnt race, so having a riser and DH fork was all that they needed. On the fun rides my xc setup was horrible for going down in comparison with theirs. When I quit racing, i sold my road bike and joined the rise cause, and decided to have some fun. Today im 32 and back pains are here, so if i can avoid that and adding extra joy to my ride.. why not ? : )
