O oldgit Retro Guru Jan 22, 2010 #1 What chain do you reckon for the following; Modern 9/10 speed chainset Campag 8 speed Ergos Sachs 7 speed freewheel I think a 9 speed is too tight for the 7 speed freewheel. And I think a 7 speed is too sloppy on a modern chainset. So I guess an 8speed then?

D daccordimark Senior Retro Guru Feedback View Mar 10, 2010 #3 What rear mech are you using? I was fine with a 7 speed chain on 9/10 speed chainset with 8-speed Ergos, cassette and rear mech. But when I went to a 9 speed rear mech I had to go with a 9 speed chain.

T team_lard Devout Dirtbag Mar 12, 2010 #5 Which shiny chain would you go for? I have to get one for my project and I want something nickel plated or nitrided. Any suggestions? cos I haven't bought anything other than a Sedis blsck for the last 10 years . . . Two old memories are the Wippermann 'White Star' and Regina 'Oro'. I want it sexier and shinier than Carrie-Ann Moss' ass in those pants!
