What bike bits have you got around you RIGHT NOW??

Hope it all mends well.

Talk us through your epic!

I'd love to say I was clearing some doubles with some hands free stylin' and ALMOST pulled it off to the envy of the awe filled crowd as they cheered and chanted my name.

But…..

I was going about walking pace on a really slippery section and my bike slid off one side of a berm and I went off the other side, but my right foot forgot to come with me.

Loud crack and bingo comedy foot all pointing in the wrong direction.

Three days in Hospital and a couple of hours in surgery and I'm confined to barracks for at least six weeks

So loads of time to plan my next build and scour ebay :D

Oh and source some flat pedals.

DMRs on all my MTBs

Sounds nasty. I feel sick just thinking about it.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yup. Spuds. Going to be swapping them out for flats on all my mountain bikes.

I've ridden spuds for 20 years without incident, but gotta say- it only takes one to make you re-evaluate your choices.

And I don't go in for serious racing these days, do a few off road duathlons but for most of the time flats are more than up to the job and don't try to rip ya feet off!

Wasn't anything special, just a muddy track in the middle of nowhere special. There was a bit of a hill, but other than that just one of those one in a million "Ah f**k it!" moments.

Always happens when you think nothing can go wrong.

Not bike bits as such but biking related.

I am sat here with some titanium screws.

They are holding the ankle together that I broke on Sunday morning on Cannock Chase.

There's a Ti plate keeping them company too.

You just had to go one better than the rest of us didn't you.....

Remember to keep them if they ever take them out, could come in handy! Speedy recovery.
