Wear your helmet...??

It is entirely up to me if I want to advise people who are acting in a way that risks themselves or their children.
Do carry on then. But don't be surprised if someone takes exception to your well intentioned help and returns the favour with helpful advice on how to punch properly, complete with a handy demonstration.

I know I would.

I can't imagine many adult Glaswegians gratefully accepting your superior moral perspective tbh. It would be interesting to watch.

I have dealt with plenty of Glaswegians.

No problem at all.

There is nothing about letting kids sit without seatbelts in a moving vehicle that is going to win any debate.

If you are telling me you would offer up some fisticuffs then my answer is you would end up in hospital, but better that than your kids who are the innocents in this scenario.

I don't have kids. :?

You could drop the kids unrestrained in cars bit as it doesnt belong on a section on whether or not you choose to wear a lid.
Doesnt lend weight to any debate unless its about seatbelts in cars

And pass up the chance to get all self-righteous on an unrelated matter?

I think he's logged out. Maybe away next door to show his neighbour how to make tea without burning himself.

It originated in my post as an analogy, and perfectly on message seeing as I was comparing people who let their kids ride without helmets to those who let their kids ride in the car without seat belts.

More than a match for you pal.

You started all the crap about how I would be thankful for my helmet and all that.

Typical crap from someone who struggles to make an argument.

Not surprised you don't have kids, your views might well change if you had.

   Give it a rest eh?

I said if you took that attitude with me I'd have a problem with it. Hypothetical.

Then you went all keyboard hardman.

If I had kids they would be strapped in. The point was if I was minded not to or didn't care I would likely also be minded to take issue with anyone who questioned it. Not that the point matters when there's a moral crusade on the go.

Let's forget it.

It is no big deal.

I am no keyboard hardman, but I have never had anyone respond to my involvement in a way I could not handle over the last couple of decades at least.

You would hopefully say something to someone who was riding around with their kids behind them further out in the road, if you could clearly see it was causing danger to the kids.

It is as simple as that, and it is the business of all of us to get involved when we see people in danger, no?

I didn't mean to sound like I know it all, but I do know something.

People who have their kids loose in the back of their car, as well as those with kids in danger behind them or not wearing helmets have never been unreasonable about it with me.

There is nothing about moral high ground or self righteousness involved.

It is common sense.

Ultimately we all care about each other, and as long as you approach people from that position you rarely get a bad reaction.
