I think that particularly in my case, and this bike, the risks are VERY different.

Grand Prix Classics are absolutely superb. Fast, very high quality and handsome. Well worthy of a high-end road bike, imo.
If you want something good quality but with a lighter tan wall, try Panaracer Pasela. Very supple, comfortable, and available in wire-bead for cheapskates.
