Re:
I've a late 80s (88 I think) Raleigh Corsa in red and white. I bought it brand new from the dealer when I was 16 or 17. It went back to Raleigh after about 6 months when the headtube cracked, so now carries a '531 refurbished' badge! It hung in the shed for about 10 years when I switched to a mountain bike due to back problems but recently has been out and about again as the misses has got into road cycling. I've just been offered a Felt for an unrefusable price so, although I love my first true racer, she has to go. Spec as follows:
531 version of the Corsa from late 80s
Original kit:
23½" frame & forks
Front wheel - Shimano 105 hub with Weinmann aero alloy rim and steel spokes
Shimano Linear Response (SLR) brakes - Exage hidden cable sport levers and callipers front and rear, SLR cables and outers
SR Road Champion deep drop bars
SR Custom stem
Exage A450 front and rear shift levers (downtube)
Exage A450 front mech
Exage A450 rear mech (replaced the roulettes many times over!)
Exage A450 sport rear hub and 6 speed cassette 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24
Upgraded from original:
Campag Athena sealed bottom bracket
Campag Mirage 170mm crank 52/42
Rear wheel rebuilt with Mavic Open Sup 4 ceramic rim and db stainless spokes.
Ritchey Logic headset
Ritchey Logic Vector Wing seat
KAlloy extended seatpost
Look road pedals
Brand new:
Serfas SECA RS flat protection system 700x23c tyres
Tubes (I forget the make without taking them off!!)
Bar tape
Chain
I'm 6 foot bang on with about a 34" inside leg, but I bought what I felt was a size or 2 too small frame at 23½ inches and had the extended seatpost. In my youth I used to blaze around with my bum in the air and my chin on the stem, or stretched out on aero bars so a smaller frame was a bit stiffer and carried a bit less weight. Top tube is 22½" centre to centre by the way.
I still love this bike and have got back into my road riding enough to now invest in the Felt (full carbon and full Ultegra 600 for under a grand!). If you are looking for something completely original this is probably not it. If you want a responsive ride, where everything works really well then it is spot on. One of the pedals lost its dust cap and there is a little play in the bearing, but the bottom bracket is smooth and sweet as are the wheel hubs and headset. There are dinks on the paintwork from the 1000s of miles I've ridden in her lifetime, but nothing a little touch-up wouldn't solve.
Let me know if you are interested. I grabbed some quick photos today before giving it a good clean, so excuse a bit of road grime! Photos at the following link:

I guess I'm looking for around £180. Thanks for reading
