I am fixed up now wheelwise, but still looking for a nice alloy seat post 27.2 x 200mm and a pair of good 1948'ish Brake Levers. G.B. Hiduminium, Burlite( not sure if they ever did a 15/16"/24mm fit lever

Hilary Stone is sure to have a suitable seat post (Reynolds perhaps ?) The brake levers are less simple. The G B pre Superhood levers have adjusters that often get lost as they are not integral to the unit and comprise an aluminium knurled wheel with brass screw. Again, Hilary Stone may well have a pair with the 'bits' that are usually lost. The alternative would be to look on ebay to see what is available in France. There always seems to be plenty of period stuff available at low prices and some was certainly imported at around that time (or so I understand). I have no idea about the Burlite - and suspect that there are very rare also.

I have had varying degrees of success, with the Continental E-Bay's and Hilary Stone.
My fall back position seat post, a very nice Birmalux came from Mr. Stone, but could prove to be too new. Not much published about Birmalux. Birmingham based company who produced Alloy rims and other components, including Seat posts. Burlite only produced brakes for a relatively short period and certainly made levers for 7/8" bars, not sure about 15/16"/24m.m.
I visited Madgetts in Diss for the first time, a few weeks ago, a grand place, with a small
collection of really nice old bikes, Bates, Baines, etc.plus fantastic stock and super service.

These things always seem to appear just when you have just about given up ever finding them. Madgett's is amazing and Mick's wheel building (3 pairs for me so far !) and knowledge is incredible ! Plus they are all really nice people over there so I recommend them. I am fortunate as I am only 40 minutes from Diss.
