Little bit later 1997, however the rockstrong was already in production by 1995/6 and didn't change morphology until the 2000's. Changed color from silver to black.

These are very nice cranks - I'm surrpised I've never come across these before
That Rockstrong would've been ideal for me - IF ever I could find one. but it's 2 years too new for the build

They had earlier versions like this one. Think it was the 80 and 85 model's that were atb/mtb
....also, the "no pogo" guessing it's an earlier take to the rockstrong, similar to topline

Gives you a chance to strip them and give them a high quality finish. The chainrings seem to be in good condition

Yh would make them similar to the 96 version with no paint

About Manufrance, here is my with a lot of French parts. Not sure that the Sachs brake and shifter were "made in France", but all other parts are "made in France".

Very inspirational for my Look Mi90 build.
I’m currently stuck in regards a Stem and Bars -
Sachs Shifters are made in France - I think the brake levers maybe Italian but not sure.
