Just a quick comparison of 2 front derailleurs made by sachs "stamped made in france". I believe the year is 1997, and this is the lower end centera that was sold as Sachs and Sram, most likely due to the takeover. Although at first, one would think the only difference is the stamped name that seperates the 2. Closer inspection reveals a lower quality sram. Noticeably the sram has oxidized faster. The rivets appear to be of lower quality, as do the bolts/screws that have also rusted much faster. Of course, this could all be down to storage/exposure, however I have noticed sachs, even on their lower ended stuff put good quality rivets and screws. The cages are also shaped differently as seen on last photo. Anyway, both suffer the sad aspect of plastic bodies, sad in that these are last derailleurs made in france.
