Vote for Geoff Apps - Mountain Bike Hall of Fame 2010

Thanks for the support from both sides of the pond, with a special thank you for Joe Breeze, Charlie Kelly, Carlton Reid, John and RetroBike, and Gary Fisher.

BITD, many of the Marin pioneers knew about and respected Geoff's ideas, and so agree that he deserves to be in the MTB Hall of Fame. However it's the Hall of fame members who decide and some of the other candidates have equally fascinating stories to tell.

Unlike most of the other categories, the Pioneer's candidate list gets shorter as more pioneers are inducted. So Geoff's contribution to our sport, may one day be recognised by the US MTBHoF. It would be gracious indeed for the American membership to vote in someone who never even set foot in Marin County. purely on the basis of his influence, and his genius in being so far ahead of his time.

Now that Alan is FINALLY in...I can vote for someone else ;-)

Thanks to everyone for their support.

I've just returned from Germany, where I managed to purchase a fairly decent (and extremely rare) pair of 635 rims. So it won't be too long now before I have 70-635 tyres fitted (that's 31" diameter).

Very good to see Joe riding the original Aventura, and Jeremy there too!

I wonder what they would make of the new AventuraTT?

Maybe I'll get to BikeRadar next year, or some other opportunity will arise for us to get together.

Thrunton ride soon...
