Viper Red 1998 Cannondale F800 SL

This bike I finished already in 2015... But better late than never to post some photos

It's a F800 SL CAAD2 frame in Viper Red, size Large. Year 1998, no disc mounts yet and the Headshok Fatty with coil / elastomer and full on/off locking on-the-fly.

Built it from a nice condition frameset (only did some touch-up for small paint chipping), had the Fatty serviced by a pro and sourced a yellow NOS rubber boot for it.

Mavic Crossride 1st generation wheels with the yellow hubs, full XT M750/751, Syncros black seat post, bars and grips. Some CNC-machined seat post clamps and Fatty locking-"lever" to finish it off along with the Maxxis Aspen tires & Flite saddle.

I think this came to pretty much 9.9 or even 10.0kg without pedals. I've added matt silver CNC brake boosters back & front since the photos were taken.

You must be very pleased with your mtb. I like the design of the front suspension. A nice job of hiding it. Not shouting at you with big springs and other stuff. Love the red. I find this hard as I'm a ex klein owner and lover. I've never liked dales bitd or now. So my liking of your mtb is confusing. Except for the above points. Also your care in the selection of parts in well chosen. A really nice build.

It sure wasn't Lot of hours spent...some patience and Google translator required in the end. It was found from a Dutch bike shop called "Profile Janssen". Turned out they had two in original packaging, but the first one I though I had already bought had ripped the packaging and dried out / cracked - thus the deal went bust. After a month or so, they then came back to me telling they had found another unopened one under the desk
