Picked up a chance pair of Bowers & Wilkins DM4's a couple of weeks ago, they were intended for my father whom I am helping to put together a modest/half-decent hi-fi system.
I know very little about hi-fi hardware pre 1990s but these DM4s were advertised locally, and on meeting the elderly seller (in Worthing, just down the road from the factory)I was given the run down of how he used to supply components to B&W through his company, and he knew an engineer that worked at there whom was able to source this very matched pair for him (he mentioned that they were 'upgraded' or something similar but I think they are just MkII model) - low and behold when i plugged them in at home it quickly became very obvious that B&W knew what they were doing back in the good old hi-fi days.
Lovely presentation, stunning vocals and separation - good bass (when close coupled to wall, which is how I like em).
All in all, i am so impressed with them that I am now in fact the owner of an excellent 1 former owner pair of DM4s, which cost me a small fraction of what my father has now paid me to take my previous B&W CM1s off my hands..
Everyone's a winner. Give em a whirl if you find a good pair.
