1950s Raphael Geminiani randonneur. Owners translation below.
Good evening to all,
We're back in a happy period where we're going round in circles, even if ten kilometres of bridle is much better than one...
To commemorate the event, I'd like to introduce you to a hiker from the Auvergne, which, as its name suggests, I ‘restored’ a year ago, during the height of the Chinese virus panic, when I was completely stunned by what was happening.
Not being an expert, I could be wrong, but I date it from the early 50s.
With 650B tyres, and being a bit of a gambler, I kept the tyres it came with and rode it... Nothing to say! They're holding up well despite their age! My test is to inflate the tyres to twice the recommended pressure (WTF GIGFY
) if they don't burst I'm on my way. Lefol mudguards, of course.
The control panel is a thing of the past. Just like the transmission.
But a very nice restoration base! Then, with time, you get ready to hit the road again!
I have to be honest; the rear sprockets are rather unpleasant and roll ‘squarely’, but the fluidity is found as the kilometres go by; the brakes don't brake but slow down... But what a comfortable ride! And what a pleasure to ride!
