A Goeland restoration. Translation below.

I'm taking advantage of this strange period of confinement to attack the renovation of a Gull - Louis Moire hiker that was waiting in my office for 1 year!
Here are a few pictures of the original "state", as bought last year on LBC (she was there for a long time...), and the current state.
Positive points: most of the original elements are present:
Aluminium wheels with MaxiCar,
canti ''safety'' brakes,
Goeland ''home-made'' front derailleur,
frame in good condition with clean threads,
GB Le Martelé,
headlights Jos,
ront pack carrier...
Negative points:
Unfortunately, the rear dropouts have been changed, so there is no visible no...
rear derailleur and shifter: ugly and modern Simplex.
The rear Cyclo dropout has been ground down and the shifter bracket has been changed.
I disassembled everything as well as the Maxicar axles (a first for me!).
I struggled with the Stronglight crankset screws (as said in a "research" post) and finally found the Facom spark plug spanner that fits perfectly in 16.
I sanded the rusted areas discreetly and without attacking the threads and paint.
I'm thinking of reassembling with what I've got, which is more or less in line with Goeland's habits and the era:
Maxiplume'' pedalboard with keys
Berthet Lyotard pedals.
old aluminium randonneur handlebars.
Old Mafac brake levers (open rear...) and old green half-cocks.
I'm waiting for a Huret Allvit rear derailleur and lever, at least in the meantime.
I'll have to try the stems because the nice original Philippe steel is very long (110mm), I think too much for a randonneur handlebar. I have a DFV hollow and a Dural Azur...
I'm thinking of reassembling everything else as it was originally... and adding a big burlap bag at the back.

Heylett 1949/50, translation below.

Under the HELYETT brand
Model NUMBER 4258
from 1949-1950, size 55.
Made entirely of Duralumin.
This bike was made by Nicola Barra, one of the best bicycle framers. His speciality is aluminium, more precisely duralumin, and this Barra bike is the perfect illustration, an extremely light material, but also very delicate to weld.
Note the radial spoking of the front wheel, the fork top with plate, the profiled frame tubes, the hammered Lefol mudguards...
