Value of my FrankenTrek 820

FrankenTrek94

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

This is my 94 Trek 820 Mountain Track, with the only stock parts being the seat stem, and a couple of outer cables šŸ˜¬

Really well set up and put together, despite being told many times the geometry is all out with the front forks šŸ¤£

It rides really well!

Deore, XTR, STX, DMR, FSA, Mavic & other cool parts.

Cheers!

Wow that's minty. Doesn't look to have seen much action at all. If you did some serious offroad on it you might feel differently about the handling.

A Trek 820 is fairly low end, despite the, and I get to use this word in its correct context for a change, upgrades. Unfortunately it wouldn't command a great deal, as nice as it is.

Going on a recent transaction - over the weekend - for a mint and almost original 970, you may be looking at about Ā£150, and this would probably be someone who would be looking to split it. It would bring you more if you sold the parts individually.

Thank you for your reply šŸ‘šŸ» I was actually thinking about getting a higher end frame, perhaps a 950/970, and swapping some bits over. I think though, this should probably stay as it is, as I only really use this one for fitness, and doing long road rides - I think if I can push this along the road, I can push anything šŸ¤£ It does ride well in that respect, all the serviceable parts were new, itā€™s really well set up and is very smooth. I really should get a new Trek too, that I donā€™t mind getting wet & muddy too ā˜ŗļø
