V-brakes to replace cantis? and purple stuff?

Is there any reason I can't swap the cantis on my (well, soon to be mine - cheers floyd!) 94 kona Fire Mountain with P2s for v-brakes? I remember doing the same thing on my old klein but obviously that had different forks.

And does anyone know of a site selling lots of purple anodized kit?!

This one! :D

No reason re brakes. Canti levers will be a little spongy on v brake arms though.

But V brakes and levers will work ok? I thought they would but read about "v-brake stops" on frames and now I'm confused!

You can run v-brakes on Kona if you have the seatpost rear canti clamp, I have attached a photo below to see how it can be run, I think you have to make adjustment on the canti clamp by drilling a bigger hole from one side or have an extra cable stop brazed on top tube if you are going to have frame resprayed.
