'USE' integrated bars and bar ends - grip dilemma

I've managed to get myself a set of the 'USE' bars that have the integrated bar ends, but I've never actually seen a set of these mounted with bar grips - has anyone else got a set of these, and if so, how have you fitted your grips? This may sound like a silly question, but I was tempted to cut a hole in a set of grips and fit the bar ends into it, but before doing so, I wanted to get the approval/thoughts from some fellow retro bikers.

Air compressor at a shop or some soapy water might work.

A friend used bar tape instead of grips when running these on his weight weenie S works instead of grips.

This is how I've fitted mine. All I did was to fit the grips as normal and then hammered them so that the bar cut a nice neat hole in the end (you have to remove the plug first though ) and then moved the grips inwards. They're very short bars but as I'm fitting them to a SS bike I don't have to worry about things like shifters.

Thanks for all the replies, even the random one about soap. If anyone else has any advice/pics, I'd still find them useful.
