Ultimate retro mud-plugger?

I have a freshly painted Project 2 in storage, I just need to bring myself to use it!

The tip yielded some DX brakes and GT pedals. I bought some new pads and fitted this morning.

The old pads were shot and the rims look frosted after riding in the grit.

No mud, just a spin around the block after work to bed the new pads in.

Forks, loft the dust seal, smoo in a bit of silicone lube and reseat. Let it get all nice and slimy.

Forks aren't that heavy, just heavier than rigid. Give em a chance.

To ride in sandy, axle deep goop, to be hosed off and slung in the shed - not pampered. The paint’ll be ripped off by tyre mud, the rims and pads ground to death.

What are the requisites for such a steed?

Several years ago, a Highpath Engineering version, like the one pictured was found abandoned in an Edinburgh stairway. Though I think the person that found it got it for free.

I went to get the forks out if storage and saw my unloved, un-ridden HHKK….

The single speed stuff has been moved over!
