TV Licencing...Quite clever really

If you think the BBC is a waste of time and money, I suggest you move somewhere outside the UK. You'll soon be missing X, Y, or Z, but also realise that without a strong Public Service Broadcaster as competition, commercial TV just goes mental with ads every 8 minutes and self promotion that makes anything done in the UK (by anyone, BBC or otherwise) look completely selfless in comparison.

The BBC is one thing I miss about home...

and dont forget these countries still pay a licence!

I think the tv license is great value for money when you see what you pay for Sky and others .

all the satellite chanels just repeat themselves over and over .

just been off sick for 2 days and had to watch day time tv , i though I catch up with all the discovery programs . well when you see the one at 9 am , it is the same at 1 pm and again around 6pm .

on the BBC such programs like blue planet or planet earth are brilliant . they must cost a lot of money to make .

sure some idiots earn too much money but they still make me laugh .

for info Crud , they have stopped advertising on France 2 .

Just wondering where people stand now that plans have been made public this week to start giving money from the license fee to commercial stations?

Thats the trouble with taxes, you have to pay them, but you have no control over what they're spent on ;)

now this has really got me

if they go ahead with this i take back everything i said in this thread

why are they (the goverment) ruining anything good we have.

the royal family are just as bad, would it have been that hard for the prince's too get a couple of vauxhall's, jags, even Honda's anythng thats manufactured in the UK. To at least pretend to show support.

Do you still have to pay six months in advance if doing direct debit, effectively giving them a permanent £70 tax free loan?

No adverts? I can only dream!! I have adverts rammed down my throat watching US TV. Plus they turn UP the volume to get you to pay more attention. Oh to have no more adverts...
