Turbo Trainer

Hi folks,

As I’m sure you all are too, I’m looking for ways to be able to train and improve during the lockdown. I’ve got some cash burning a hole in my pocket and have always fancied the idea of Zwift. However, everyone else has seemingly had the same idea and all smart turbos now seem to be out of stock everywhere. Specifically wanted a wahoo as ive heard they’re the best but does anybody have any idea of anywhere that still has stock? Checked all the usuals but had no luck.

Thanks in advance

Re:

You’re really going to struggle, unfortunately. Sigma Sports said that demand was up 100’s of percent, right though price points.

I’d maybe try Facebook marketplace and see if you can pick up one locally. Ebay may be worth a try too, but you may end up paying more as people take advance of the supply issue for new units.

Just a thought, but non-smart turbo trainers and rollers can be used on Zwift too, they’re just not as interactive. You’d just need a speed/cadence sensor.

Re:

It's all gone nuts recently, probably unsurprisingly.

I have been watching out on fleabay for a suitable multigym weight bench thing since losing access to the gym at work last year, there were typically 2 or 3 every week within a few miles of home going for under 50 quid. Now they are fetching 100 plus for even scabby ones. Same with rowers. Guess supply and demand issues extends beyond bog roll.

Wonder if there's a decent home grown solution to a turbo trainer / roller that can be done? Might look into that.
