Truvativ Holzfeller cranks - stripping

I tried a bit of oven pride on the driveside crank last night, 10mins or dabbing, scrubbing and rinsing and its doing a grand job! Just wished I'd waited before cracking out the 80grit on the non driveside! Got a lot of sanding to do on that one to bring it back up now!!! :( thank goodness for dremels!
Saying that, does anyone know where to get the sanding discs for them?all I can find are cutting discs on ebay and B&Q seem to have stopped selling them....

80 grit! If have started something like 400. You got some elbow grease to invest there my friend.

yeah, i know, i got impatient actually, i started with 400, but it wasn't getting though the thicker/flatter parts of the crank very well.
i'm in no rush for these to be finished and i haven't done that much of the non drive side, i do seem to like making jobs harder for myself :p

will be a good comparison once they're done though, between the eco friendly 'no chemicals' version Vs oven pride :)

Caustic sodas the stuff to use. bought for about 2 quid from wilkos and it just strips it within 10 mins of soaking, anodising just wipes off with a brush. done some spacers top caps brake mounts, and grip lock rings. quite fun began eyeing up parts on all my bikes. Learnt it wont touch paint though totally unaffects it left for half an hour, did nothing. Had to nitromors a set of V8 pedals and that was painstaking
