Just a word of a advice from my own experience. keep it safe! in the house if possible. I've had two prized MTB's stolen in the past year one only last month from a locked brick garage (harder to break into than the house).
Get it insured and make sure its itemised and very importantly have a LBC verify its value, even if you do all the work for them valuing it and have them just sign the valuation sheet.
Insurance will do anything to wriggle out of paying up! If i had kept mine in the glass conservatory on full view insurance will pay full value, hidden in a garage with UPVC doors and double glazed window they will only pay out ltd value so check the small print.
Rant over... Anyway enjoy
