Towsen Ti

You are lucky - i have!

TOWSEN was founded by Florian Dehnhard and Erich Müller in the early 90s in Dieburg (near Frankfurt), Germany. The frames has been designed by Florian and welded in Russia at a company that was used to build interior for military submarines. The frames came from Russia in raw finish and have been finished and satined in Germany - in case you have a polished one: lucky one - they are really rare. Series products have all been satin finish.
In 98/99 full suspension entered the market and titanium lost its popularity and Florian left TOWSEN to found BERGWERK. Erich continued for one year before he terminated TOWSEN. The TOWSEN frames went through two generations - 1st was with smaller tube diameters, forged dropouts and 1" head tube, 2nd generation was with CNC machined dropouts and 1-1/8". Market price was DM 1.999,- which is more or less 1.000 EUR - i guess there went about 500 - 1000 frames to market - and one MTB-tandem.

cheers, Jolm

Phillip, I love that frame, the cable bosses details are very nice and the graphics understated. Might try some RC36 Evo on my Litespeed, As they look good on yours.

Also the touch of purple is very nice.

I just got some purple bolts for the AMP.

Nick :)

I ' ve got a TOWSEN, too

Hi there!

I just got a TOWSEN Frame.

It`s new-old-stock, probably made in 1996, first series.

I am no MTB fan, so I decided to sell it again...and get a decent steel frame (probably a Bob Jackson World Traveller).

May be there is someone interested. I can ship worldwide!

You can find the frame on ebay: 130529756391

I'm sorry, but I cannot post pictures here...

So...

I just called to company of Erich Müller in Dieburg.

Unfortunately, I was not able to talk to Mr Müller and it took me some time to get the right person to the phone....

TOWSEN Frames were really sold by Mr. Müllers company. They also confirmed, that the frames were manufacutred in that submarine factory in Russia. They do not have frames or spareparts left and do now make carbon-fibre things such as golf carts.

Hello from Vienna.
I am about to buy the bike, but would like to know in advance if the rear shock can be serviced.

Maybe someone knows which element is installed. What do you think: Rubber cow or solid to ride?
Cheers
