Is that the same for plant based oils? No chemist so not sure of composition and how they are different…

In my experience, mineral and vegetable oils do. Is coconut a vegetable. Nope that's me. Short answer I don't know and should have read more thoroughly

No idea here either, but worth checking first before damaging something that's 70 years old!

Coconut oil solidifies at around 25 degrees C so during use would change significantly vs. when you apply it due to heat from hands. Not sure if this has any impact on whether it should be used or not...

LFGSS can be a funny place to ask for advice/get info. Some decent people on there and some people with serious attitude. probably more decent humans on the 50s thread due to age!
