Lovely morning for a ride, started off thinking it might be a little chilly but quickly warmed up to 20degC. The wind has finally changed direction so it was mostly a tailwind home too...
Nothing special about the scenery, except that (having cycled past here for decades)
I only discovered last year that my great, great, great, great, great grandfather farmed these fields and my great, great, great, great grandmother was born here in 1791. Their house is sadly no longer standing but you can still see the outline of it on a satellite view, in the garden of a much more recent house built to replace it.
Finally got this one rideable... (disc brakes were a real faff! Or maybe I'm not used to them? ) anyway. I very nice ride around my local, in which spring is well and truly sprung!!
A few too many spacers on the steerer which I still need to cut - I fear I might like the elevated bars too much though!!
Loads of chicks in the park (feathered variety, mainly) Egyptian Goose, I think.
You not actually allowed to ride in this bit - so this photo is 'Today's Walk'
15km - 17C, no wind, nice and warm in the sun - first T-shirt ride of the year!!! (I don't like the cold )
Patchy sunshine with cold wind today -- not much to write home about (or indeed here), but went for a 35k 'easy' ride on the Kona Jake. As ever, the wind was stronger outside town than it seemed at first, and it was definitely bringing a chill factor with it.
Still, autumn colours are in full swing and the roads were quiet, so it was good to be out and active.
