Stoned Me is one of my all time favourites. Hard to believe Van's 80 this year!Oh, the water...
Get it myself from the mountain stream
(Title of song tastefully omitted)
Good effort, will have to pull my finger out and do a long ride soon. And not waste time doing selfies on the bike !![]()
Concrete boat (https://fabulousnorth.com/cretehawser-wreck/) on the Sunderland leg of the C2C route. Pretty brutal today, 132.84km/82.54 miles with 1065m/3494ft of elevation. Was kinda hoping to hit the 100 mile mark and felt pretty good up until about 75 (previous max was around 71) when I started running out of steam majorly but oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. Didn't really keep up with eating as much as I should have, headwind for a good half of it didn't help either, managed some good stretches on roads I'd normally avoid which more than made up for it. Think I need to do either some cleat adjustment or try a slightly smaller pair as started getting pain around halfway through, and was limping by the time I got home![]()
it's been the driest, sunniest period I can remember in my part of the UK for what seems like decades,
@PhillB How are you finding those Super Yummy tyres? Do they come up large compared to other 2.2 tyres? After an eventful few days at work, I decided to get out for a ride this evening. Spring is definitely in the air and it's been the driest, sunniest period I can remember in my part of the UK for what seems like decades, so it must be enjoyed!

If you look closely in this photo you can see a Fish Stabber.

Every time I see one, it reminds me of a story my Dad told me about how his grandfather shot a Heron with a slingshot during WWII and brought it home to cook. I smelt really bad and stunk the house out, was really greasy and tasted like rotten fish. Hardly surprising I guess. He also brought home a Swan for Christmas dinner one year... but that's another story.

Lazy deer.
A lot of history in this park, from ancient neolithic field boundaries to Eisenhower.... most people unaware this plague is here..

It was only when I got home that it was pointed out to me that I was unintentionally colour-co-ordinated with my bike... hehe, what a nob!

Driest March in england , since records began in 1910 , with only 43% of average rainfall. I think i read that right.
