Today's Ride

Same tough climb as last time but picked a much tougher route home proving once again that not all miles are equal. Very fun ride with much technical stuff that really wakes you up. Will be doing it again for sure and hopefully get better, almost came off a few times, couple of bad landings.

Mostly the same route as the other day with a small change at the end to avoid the kids coming out of school/get home a bit quicker; 106.38km/66.10 miles with 854m/2801ft of elevation. Bit hard to see but the first two pics contains 7 bridges; Redheugh, King Edward VII, Queen Elizabeth II, high level bridge, swing bridge, the Tyne and the Millennium. Pretty brutal almost 30 mile long headwind for the second half of it 🫠

good start for the oncoming 'bike with the most bridges in one pic' contest. ;)

The weather this afternoon was forecast to be rain and thunderstorms... but apart from a couple of claps of thunder.....nothing. Bonus ride opportunity!! The sky looked pretty ominous at times, but not a drop. Quite warm for the time of year 15C, not much sun, as you can see - a quick 15km blast
