Today's Ride

Really busy at work at the moment and have some looming deadlines..... but the weather today is glorious so I convinced myself I could spare 10 mins to ride to the shops...anyway 75 minutes and a mini lunchtime rampage later...

I love those 10 minute rides that take over an hour.
As much as I dislike those 5 minute jobs that take over the morning

I took the train down to Newton Abbot yesterday then rode up and down The Stover Trail which generally follows the route of an abandon canal to Bovey Tracey before getting the train back to Dawlish and my favourite riverside ride up the Exe Trail to Exeter which was as usual very nice.

Twixt monmouth and Abergavenny - the hamlet of Onen on the B4233
A nice road if there's no traffic around.

Mostly the same route as the other day with a small change at the end to avoid the kids coming out of school/get home a bit quicker; 106.38km/66.10 miles with 854m/2801ft of elevation. Bit hard to see but the first two pics contains 7 bridges; Redheugh, King Edward VII, Queen Elizabeth II, high level bridge, swing bridge, the Tyne and the Millennium. Pretty brutal almost 30 mile long headwind for the second half of it

Grovel up the the north side of the South Downs ridge - up Warningore Bostal. Grey evening, but the ground is dry and it didn't rain!

Sunny 20°, first ride since 4 months, in shorts in march, nothing left in the legs but memories so easygoing down two rivers with just one climb. Anyhow rather exhausted
