Glad to see this thread picking up and so many of you getting out and enjoying the decent weather! We've had the sun up north but it's also been significantly windy to the point it hasn't been worth heading out as it'd be a classic headwind in every direction scenario. Finally eased off today at 14c and 11/12mph breezes. After the other days crank debacle and a good while spent trying to fit some fresh GP5000s I was very eager to get out, got about 11 miles into it and snapped the chain at the quick link, at least presuming it was that as the link was nowhere to be found My luck is unparalleled.

Some nice dry tracks today, first time I haven’t had to clean the bike after a ride for a while! Weather was nice enough to be down to short sleeves.

Picked up some of the Three Shires Way and more around Bedfordshire today.

Longest ride so far, I'm shocked how far some of you lot go. I know I can do more distance but I don't want to ride through busy towns so am still looking for good longer routes

OpenStreetMap is great for finding alternate routes, bridleways, cycle lanes etc. Pair that up with Stravas heat maps feature which shows frequently traveled routes, alongside looking at other peoples rides to poach their routes and it's very easy to start linking up different towns via their outskirts and getting long rides in.

I have OS maps and I did look on Google Earth first but no idea the traffic would be so bad. I've found a few nice routes for summer, just need to get the fitness up now
