Today's Ride

Very true. I usually run swifts and B17s which capitulate fairly quickly, but this one is a thick beast and taking its sweet time. (despite all my tough talk, I may swap it for a B68 or 72).
Couldn't get on with the swift, B17 I love, not the narrow though. I find the Pro a good saddle that takes at least twice the break in. Persevere mate, it will turn out fine 😁

Had planned to cycle to Hownsgill Viaduct and back today which would be a bit over 100km round trip, however lastnight I ended up going and running a 5k out of pure spite which did a bit of a number on my legs having not really ran since school PE lessons so bottled it 😂 Just kept it localish, ended up around 66km with 468m elevation.

Wouldn't think this picture was England in January 🍻

Hey @Piotr I see there's a child trailer in there - if you take the canvas off and make a base with Ply, you can carry loads of stuff around.
Maybe you already have one...

I love the stuff on the tarp - I imagine you took this all home and now it's on the living room floor, you're making a cycle-powered satellite uplink for full ride-connectivity😉

@Gtpulse Nice pictures, that Jason fella certainly gets about - seen some of his stuff in Newcastle too. Wish I had your dedication for washing when getting back, spin to Asda this morning baring yesterdays mud 😂

He certainly must travel a bit, wonder if he’s train hopping as it’s usually under railway bridges. Not something you hear of much in the UK must sure it must happen.

Had to get back to washing every ride, I was lazy last week and immediately regretted it having ridden sandy tracks along the beach! An early morning clean and regrease of the chain wasn’t on my list when I went to get my bike out yesterday but had to be done!

I had a bit of a nefarious childhood/teen years so I can tell you that under railway bridges are considered pretty much just chill spots where you can paint 24/7 365 with little bother. I'd imagine there's some train hopping here and there but at least in terms of freight I don't think there's that much really running these days (compared to 20 odd year ago atleast), the biggest misnomer is usually people assuming it's teens doing it when in reality the UK's most prolific are adults and can either fund the travel or in certain cases their choice of work lends itself to painting countrywide - if you've drove any of the major motorways in the UK chances are you've seen things painted by Sica; lot of theories out on the internet if you google it (my favourite being it's a group of eastern european lorry drivers) but the reality is his career involves traveling. Probably similar scenarios with the likes of 10foot, Helch, etc.

My gripe with washing every ride (atleast in winter) is that daylights already dwindling by the time I get back and it doesn't matter what I do, what I use or how much GT85 is involved I'll always wake up the next day to an orange tint on the chain/cassette 😂 Try and aim for every couple of days/rides, gave it a good wash down this morning now it's out drying in the sun. Might get out again later on if the legs feel up to it.
