Today's Ride

I had a similar inbred myself a while ago. spent most of its time in singlespeed mode. really loved it. :)

Love is an understatement, half debating trying to pick up another one for single speed purposes but I'd be better off finishing this one first 😂 Got out again today, decided to give the Paselas another shot. Had originally bought them with the idea that most of my current routes (or atleast parts of them) would be fucked for winter, so it made more sense to get a commuter/touring type of tyre and stick to paved/tarmac/road/etc surfaces. That went out of the window almost immediately today and got on a bridleway within the first five minutes and then proceeded to have the worst uphill slog I've experienced since all the ice had melted and flooded the entire path out into a sludgy mess, ended up walking a few parts. Thought they'd excel on the flats/areas where I could really sprint but they didn't seem too dissimilar to Billy Bonkers. Wasn't till I hit uphills on the way back they really started to shine, felt like a rocket ha. Undecided as to if I'll keep them on, shame theres no sub 2 inch width Billys, or any sorta DJ tires like Maxxis DTH's etc.

I have really enjoyed Michelin Country Rock 26x1.75. They're fun on most roads and some trails. Not good for mud, but fast rolling, soft sticky compound, they squeak a little on pavement. Gravel can get stuck between the tread blocks sometimes

Good shout, cheers. Had been trying to keep it tan wall but at this point I just want something that's a jack of all trades (or terrain) and master of none as opposed to being really good/apt at one specific thing then having to walk others 😂 Least with the BB's I could make it through the muddy bridleways hah, cheers again.

Was riding down the street this morning, turned right on the sidewalk where I lost the front wheel on the icing rain and hit the ground like a whale with my upper body. Could hardly breath and had to rest on my knees for a minute. Bruised ribs and pain in the shoulder, but nothing serious, luckily 😌 Good excuse not to go cycling this weekend, it's too cold anyway ;)
