Nic0 those are Big Hills - very nice. Steel on good hills - wonderful.

Broken cloud, lots of different layers and types. Blue skies inbetween with golden sunshine. Brisk 10-15mph NNE (yes, north-east o_O) breeze, so felt about 12 degrees if you were lucky. Thankfully the combination of sun and pedalling kept me toasty.

Found some dirt on the route to Carn Brea...along with plenty of greenery scratching my limbs 🤣

From whence I came...

Not sure if I shared these from round 4 of the SWXC series at Wheal Jane (hosted by Wheal Velocity). Pretty sure I did bore you with the story, placing 12/13 but my "best" competitive performance in terms of timing, not just in my category. As you can see, these men are proper quick and don't fcuk about. I channelled by best Dario Cioni vibes on the day...well he was born in Reading too ;)

It's the final round next weekend, same venue, different course so I'm looking forward to wrapping it up, and since I've entered every one, where I place overall. Top 10 might be a stretch too far but here's hoping 🫣

Attention - pas de materiel retro

OK - woke up dead tired from DH battering.

DH basically is:

Get lift
Climb into giant tumble drier for 10 mins
Stop
Repeat

Knackering.

After mild recovery through much coffee we head over to Vercorin. They have been doing a lot of digging. The badly named Family Trail has nice berms, prolific rocks and weird ruts. It’s about as family oriented as a heavy metal gig.

Meanwhile the higher Flow trail is exactly that. HEUGE berms all beautifully crafted. Let go of the brakes and gravity feels like flicking an afterburner switch …..

Excellent

Absolutely drained at the end of the day….

BIG thunderstorms this morning so fiddled around having coffee.

Then drive to St Luc (Val D’Anniviers) to the dustiest trails in the Valais. But the rain had really damped it down, which was good.

Funicular up and some good craic with two Dutch DHers and some locals (female riders…DH is good re male female mix)

Then Blue trail to start. Blue. Easy…
