Today's Ride

Thick grey cloud which started to break in places. Hazy low cloud in the valleys. Meant to be 8 but very chilly 3-4 thanks to a unpleasant ESE breeze, so all the layers were back on after a short sleeved and shirt run yesterday evening. All this meant I needed to find the one spot that feels and smells like spring at the moment, Trengwaniton Gardens.

They left the main gate open so I snook in. The Camelia's are going off but the Rhodee's are coming in and smelling ace

It's Norman so I reckon the rest may well be later . It's probably been stuck back together a few times and fiddled with generally.

Apparently 8 but the air temp was 2-3 degrees. Needed all the layers! Light ESE breeze, high cloud but mainly blue skies and early golden sunshine. To end the working week, and with no notable rain the past few days, it was back on the trails.

Have I ever shared this place with you? Tires were not up to the descent in, legs not up to the climb out. The bike's new attitude is going to require some experimentation with tread. Once again, the Duck has become my only working trail bike

Today I rode through the north part of black forest up to 1000 meters altitude. No signal, not a soul around but me, only the wind in the trees and a few birds, wonderful

Thanks to my wife who raised the idea to spend the weekend at my parents' vacation-house, we had a great two days of mostly hiking and a short(er than usual) ride for me.

I took my old 45650B, my do-it-all/ride-anywhere bike, which is like a trustworthy jeep, but I can see a more gravel-oriented bike in my future, which could be much more suitable for this roads. Perhaps...
