Today's Ride

Back to the grind. Last week was paved with good intentions, and then life got in the way.

Autumn managed to sneak up and bump summer off. Colours changing to yellow, orange and brown. The sun is playing lower in the sky.

Chilly morning, we're down to 8°c. This afternoon a mixture of sunny intervals and heavy showers. Shrewd timing for the ride home, ducking between downpours. Bit warmer, returning 12°c, but only 12!

I'm really enjoying this little bike. It wasn't meant for commuting, but for the moment, what the hell.

Looking out over the River Don towards the fringes of Manor Farm at Old Denaby in the background. The towpath is behind me. I miss my old commute, but none of the hassle associated with it. Screenshot_20211004-194729_Gallery.webp

Had to call off a trip today due to the storm, but did manage to get a ride in between the showers. Windy as well but pretty sheltered in the trees and managed to miss the rain.

A nice little ride and got home without feeling any twinges so happy all around.

Just a couple of shots, didnt really want to keep stopping and starting preferring to try to keep some sort of rhythm. The last pictures do not really show how bright the rock is in reality.

Yesterday was bloody awful. No way was I cycling in that. It's already dangerous enough without Mother Nature throwing shapes as well.

Today was as different again. Over the course of a week we've crossed the threshold into needing lights of a morning. I think today will be the last ride on the RSP for a bit....until tomorrow at least.

Cool morning. Full length tights worn, 8°c again.
Muddy and slippery off road. Big puddles remain here and there on road.

Dehydrated this morning, as there wasn't much in the engine room, and my head started to pound once I'd broken a sweat.

Beautiful Autumn afternoon. Dry and sunny, about 16°c. A touch too warm for my morning kit.

Another shot of the River Don. Bike precariously balanced against the branch. Screenshot_20211006-191921_Gallery.jpg

Perfect weather today and a ride around Media City at Salford Quays. On to Old Trafford and scouted out the start of the canal to Lymm which we've planned for a future ride.

great light and photo opportunities meant lots of stops 😁😎

Thanks mate. It was a very enjoyable day.
Re the pics, 10 years ago I’d have struggled to get pics like this with my DSLR and lenses.
Now I just take the phone from my pocket… point and shoot

Summer's brief reprise.

Stepped back into August this morning, to begin what would become a warm sunny day.

13°c, watching the sun rise over the horizon at Kilnhurst.

The ride home just as good, and much warmer than yesterday. 20°c.
It's surprising what the right angle can conceal - a large factory about 20ft to the right. Screenshot_20211007-223136_Gallery.jpg
