Highpoint of today's ride in more ways than one.

Heard a whistle on the way down so had to investigate.

Today-Tuesday-A ride up to the West of town about 900' up. Met a guy with a fully rigid Niner one speed-a really strong guy to make the loop up here on a 30-20...

Re:

Today-Wednesday- An easy ride up into the Water District with Charlie Kelly and Warren. I was leading around a long bend on Concrete Pipe fire road, and when I came around the last bit there was a good sized Bobcat running away from me up the road. I chased, and after 100 yards or so he darted off into the bushes and then the forest-kinda cool encounter. At one point, when we were hanging out in the sun, a butterfly landed on Warren's helmet, and stayed there long enough to snap the photo. On the way home we ran into Charlie Cunningham, out on his daily hike...

Local loop.
There was a bike, but hands too cold to faff around with the flash, nor set up for a decent shot!

Was sunny and reasonable warm today so did one of my local rides but took a different turn to explore the unknown, glad I did as found some more off-road tracks. Best thing was there was next to no mud.... long may it continue.
The bridge where the trollls live.

Breaking the law, Judas Priest style

Downed tree removed, counted the rings, 70 or so years.

Wood full of tiny yellow flowers, not seen or noticed them before, more common to see bluebell woods.

Now we're into unknown territory, but you can see my house in the background.

A weir, didn't know this was here..... but then how could I since it was my first time here.

Choice of going up (on the left) or staying on the level to the right, well where's the fun in staying flat?

And a nice gentle dry long downhill ride.

Re:

Today-Wednesday-Back on the bike today after being laid low with a bout of shingles since last Friday. It's supposed to last about 10 days, but I can't just lay around anymore-feels great to ride and get my sore muscles moving again. Not a long ride, but I did throw in the steepest street in Fairfax on the way home, ( 30% grade ) and climbed it OK... :)

Get well soon Pat! Shingles are a right pain, I remember they knocked my Dad out - who like you is as fit as a fiddle - for weeks, so take it easy. Keep on the fluids ;-)

Re:

After fitting a TB P2 fork, aheadset and moots stem to my 9x Ti Fighter this Sunday morning, I went for a ride to test it out. Its a typical overcast grey day for mid Autumn down here in NZ.

Off to the local tourist cycle path...Matakana, Auckland NZ

and down to Omaha beach...was a bit windy and overcast - no swimming today!

then in to Pt Wells and Whangateau harbour, I live on the other side of the flats (2 km away) but unfortunately the channel is too deep to cross even at low tide...

Rides great!
