Today's Ride

Day late with this .
So,off to John Pyes at Chesterfield I set to. { Collecting Moore and Large LS stuff . Panniers hanging as well.
My route up took me vis Kilburn,Smalley {which is not a small as it's name suggests} Onwards to Heanor ,Condor { Steeped in mining values}
Over to Alferton . Sticky bun time here . Onto the A61 to Spire town .En route the feds in hot pursuit of a nutter on a M/C going t' way .
Spire town.

Down to Pyes I free wheeled. As I had not booked a collection time slot ,come back it 40 was said .A raid on Greggs followed .
Black over Bills it was on re emegring . Caped up and spats on ,I returned to Pyes and collected my purchase .
Tea time Back Soon .
Now where was I....Chesterfield that's where . Here's the rub .Pyes is in the lowest part of the town and it's up hill, anyway out. I removed my Cape [it hadn't rained despite a bit of a try by mother nature.
So began my assault on the sort of climb that if you 🛑 it's bugger this for a lark .
The pull is a good 3 miles to the top [ 300m]
Gain a few more meters to pudding pie 🥧 hill .onto Beeley Moor 367 m 👆 up. 20230725_155759.jpg
Over to Matlock Farm Park ,cafe closing for the end of day . Shortly after then ,spotted this 20230725_170108.jpg 20230725_171925.jpg
Anyone got any idea how old said way marker is?
What's gone up a long way has to come down again .The free wheel from Tansley to Matlock is quite a rush . Thank hevs for disc stoppers .
Re fuel at filling station in Matlock .
Onto the A 6 for home in Derby.
Stats if thats your bag . Miles quite a few , attitude or altitude a lot , ride time who cares .
Ride ear worm.....

Another day to sally forth into the lanes of Derbyshire and Staffordshire with a mate > Excellent cafe stop ,apart from the squadrons of wasps trying to make off with my cake . Little fockers . We yapped all the way,few conclusions reached about anything { we should both stand as MP's}
To top it all we never did find Sally .
Tomorrow is another ride . Bring it on .

That sounds like A Good Ride.
Excellent.

Jump in car at 1pm at work in Cambridge - not train since I need to get back tomorrow and there’s industrial action - traffic a bit ‘pre COVID’ so rather slow - but arrive Brighton 4pm and talk bike nonsense for half an hour - then short training run - 10 miles in woods around Stanmer and Moulscoombe - 1300 feet of climbing - greasy greasy singletrack, VERY humid - pant pant sweat sweat….NO BUNS - NO CAKE

now….get up early for a bigger ride tomorrow…..
