Hhmmm you pump water in that there vw?that's how I did my petrol cap. but these days the wafers are so cheap I just replace them as a matter of course.
having said that, my VW is 70 years old, it's only 38.
Thankfully aircooleds don't have head gaskets so don't suffer that problem there only weakness is a lack of normal maintenance and understanding.Indeed I do. As much as air fins are a wonderful idea, I find that sitting on the side of the road without a head gasket is somewhat tedious these days. A lesson learned from experience on the way to a show in North Wales.
Heathen I know, but care I do not, without the mk1 golf, vw would be consigned to the history books as another failed auto maker. Instead it is one of the biggest in the world now and you can still see the heritage when you sit in a modern eurobox. I grant you that the genocidic pricks folly with a young Mr porsche has its place amongst the VW history book pages, and what a story it tells, but my heart belongs to water these days.
