To break or not to break? (Azonic DS-1 Custom build)

Azonic DS1

Old School Hero
Built this back in 2010 to honour the bike I built way back when but the garage is getting VERY full and I've done all of 5 miles on it since building it! I think I might strip it and sell all the parts on the forums here as I doubt there's much call for a complete retro bike nowadays?

Any idea what it might sell for as a whole or parted out?

The current bike (built 2010 using some new parts, some used parts)

Brand new parts in 2010 (tyres + grips were also new, just not pictured)

Re:

Here's some more info, could really do with an idea of value before I sell it or I risk either asking too much or giving it away, I'd really like to just sell it as a whole but I would part it out if need be. Just to add it has a slow puncture in the rear tyre :-(

The following parts were bought brand new in 2010 and have had less than 5 miles use

Forks: RST Mozo Pro 3.5" (I think) (sticker scratched on one leg)
Hubs: Shimano Deore
Rims: Sun Mammoth
Pedals: DMR V8
Rear Chain Device: DCD
Stem: Azonic Shorty
Headset: FSA
Cassette: Shimano
Seat: WTB

The remaining parts were sourced used from both here and eBay in 2010

Frame: Azonic DS-1 (The very first and best one with the gussets on the outside) (Some scratches)
Front Chain device: DMR
Rear mech: Shimano LX
BB: Shimao LX
Crank: Can't remember, LX maybe?
Seatpost: Can't remember
Tyres: Tioga DH (lots of tread left)
Bars: Azonic Pyramid
Shifters: Sachs Wavey
Brakes: Magura HS33's

Re:

Well it looks like there's no demand for a custom built retro bike then, I guess I'll start stripping it.

seems like a shame to me, clear some of your other tat out of the garage instead :)

Re:

lol I already have, the only things left other than my workbench and general tools are a GasGas 300 trials bike, a Yamaha MT09 road bike, a Trek Fuel mountain bike, the missus Specialized Rockhopper and my lawnmower and all the supporting kit for that lot. I've actually already ran out of tat to get rid of, and sadly the Azonic is the lowest on the totem pole as far as usage goes.

Re:

I'd sell it as a whole if I had a clue as to how much to ask for it. I guess I'll have to scour eBay for the going rates of all the separate parts and form a total price that way.

Re:

Got any honda or motocross parts lurking in there by any chance? ;)

The thing is you wont get back anywhere near what you paid for it, especially as a complete bike. In parts you stand more chance of recouping some funds but even so... Its probably worth more to you in emotional attatchment than the money you probably would expect for it

Not that i want to encourage you to break it but if you did i have been looking for one of those dmr chain guides

Re:

No I haven't, I did used to have a garage full of Yamaha WR450 parts as I used to have a Supermoto but not anymore. I'm under no illusions that it'll not sell for much at all, I don't really have a clue TBH hence the thread, I have a figure of £300 in my head but again I could be way off in either direction as I've not had a lot to do with buying and selling mtb parts for years.

I'm no expert on late 90's trial/ds bikes but as with most stuff of that age it'll see more money split which is sad considering how much time you've obviously put into it. As a split I'd expect it to make in the region of £250-300 depending on condition of parts and a fair wind. A breakdown would probably look like this:
Frame: £70-90
Wheels: £50-70
Forks: £30-40?
Brakes: £60-80
Other parts £50-70

Obviously this is all a total guesstimate and everything could go crazy high or fail to sell, but it's only a guide right!
