Time TBT pedal advice

Retro Newbie
I have two sets of Time pedals (approximately 93) using look pedals at the moment but they never agreed with my knees. I want to go back to the Time pedals and specifically four hole shoes.

I picked up a pair of DMT Prisma 2.0 that are for Speedplay pedals so same four hole spacing as the time cleats. No problems setting them up but wondering about the stress element of using the carbon sole as load bearing.

Pictures are below, any opinions?

Fit the wear plates, other than that, look cleats aren't really that stiff compared to the full sole, so I'd not worry about it.

There will be a difference, as they aren't designed specifically for those loads, but it'll be minimal.

Re:

On the TBT shoes I had / have and also on the SIDI with adapters I have, the cleats are recessed, and therefore I think with the shoe you have, they might be too proud of the surface.

This might mean that they give a lot of float, or it might mean they are difficult to disengage, or they might be fine!

Hard to tell but look at this pic, I hope it makes sense.

In terms of the sole, its probably going to be strong enough but it'll probably scuff too.

SIDI did adapter plates for their shoes which went from 3-4 bolt, but I believe they are all made of metal including the plates for the CF soled shoes. My plates do have some wear from unclipping etc.

No, the cleats come with a black plastic piece that sits between cleat and a flat sole to make sure the cleat stand offs are correct. As it is now, the rear section is too tall for the pedal, and the front piece is too low, both will sit at the wrong angle in the pedal.

They go between shoe and cleat. Have a google for better images, they'll also make sure the spacing is correct.

Lol, tight enough not to move! Don't think I've ever seen an actual spec!
I think I've got some bagged one's downstairs, I'll have a look if i get achance.
