Hey guys,

There's been lots of chatter about Ti forks of late, much of it harkening back to the run of Project 2's that Sandvik did back in the early 90's.

I've always been a bit pessimistic about the Ti forks that have hit the market...poor design with regard to longevity and performance/rigidity across the rider weight range.

However, I've been doing some research the last couple of months and have settled in on some tubing wall thicknesses and steerer material I think would meet my design goals.

So, the question becomes, when the nuts hit the ground, how many folks out there would really be interested in a Ti unicrown fork available in custom configurations? Pick your steerer size, brake configuration, atc and rake.

Secondly, what would you be willing to pay for such an item?

Really interested in honest feedback to gauge what the need truly is.

cheers,

rody

I would like a TI forks on my workbike . it is a MTB frame but I use slick tyres and rifid fork with discs . But with the tyres pumped on the max it is not very friendly .

I think a TI fork would solve that . But like Ed , a ti fork would be out of my prices .

I think the price should be between a rigid fork , and a decent sus fork so around the £150 to £200 mark .

Something similar to an Accutrax would be cool (big oversize straight legs and unicrown) and IRO of £200 would sell like hot cakes IMO!

Yes I have toyed with the idea for a few years, never found any that I have been happy to buy, the cost is also a factor, if there were a Ti fork out there for around £150-£250 , and was well put together and light then yes I would be very interested.. especially if they were available in different steerer tube diameters... to suit my bikes.. :)

I'd like a pair. Can they be quite fat tubed. As Trimbles look odd with skinny forks (some say)
Price?? I'll get anther credit card

Ti

If i was to get one i'd like a 5 piece design, would that be more expensive than a unicrown version?

If I had the money I would be very tempted :(

When I have the money I will be very tempted

I would be interested in seeing the cost and weight. If it were competitive with with the DT (Pace) Carbon/Ti fork at about £250 then I imagine people could be tempted. I certainly would - I've had a few bad experiences with "Bonded" components and prefer welded***

***I'm awaiting set of Pace RC31's... I hope I don't regret this with my history

I'd be interested in 5 piece forks and the prices suggested above sound good too

Or what about some RC30 alikes (that's a thought, how about Ti legs for a Pace crown? would that be easier/cheaper to fabricate)?
