There really are some miserable buggers in yorkshire...

In my street, new residents tried to get an asbo on the kids playing (wait for it), ON THE KIDS PLAY PARK.

The local parish council sorted it all by (wait for it), BUILDING AND EVEN BETTER PARK SO EVEN MORE KIDS COME AND PLAY.

Lots of long established music pubs have this problem, new housing gets built nearby, new residents complain, 200 year old pub shuts.

That's quality - I want to meet the Councillor who signed that off!

Excellent, wish there were more councils with common sense!

The same thing happened with Goodwood racetrack hence there's slightly more draconian noise limits there.... that whole attitude does my head in;
I want to say I live at Goodwood but don't want to put up with everything that comes with it!!!

And on the subject of Yorkshire folk, whenever I speak to one this image comes to mind....

It's not just in Yorkshire, it's happening everywhere. The world is going mad. Never mind the residents, it's the school authorities that need a kick up the ass for pandering to the whinging bastards. A simple letter saying 'Hey Joe, you bought a house next to a school, what do you expect? Put up or **** off somewhere else. Simples.'
There will now be a generation of kids in Selby that dislike the older generation for spoiling their fun. Just what you want as you grow old, knowing the generation that will be expected to care for you actually could not give a toss!

As mentioned, people moving into houses next to race circuits are now getting them shut down. Those circuits have been there since the end of the war. I remember group 5 sportscars going round Croft with open exhausts and making a glorious racket.

I live near a school and have 1500 kids walk past the house twice a day. Yeah they are noisy but so what, I was a right little fooker when I was a lad. Show em some respect though and you get it back. Let kids be kids.

Ps. It could be to do with living in Selby. A more boring hole of a place you would struggle to find.

Oi... My Hometown :D :D

Fascinating place, we've got an Abbey... and a canal... and a train station!

You've obviously never been to Goole! :D :D :D

PS Only funny thing about Goole was a few years ago when there was a train crash near there and TV/Newspapers couldn't call it the Goole Train Crash! :D :D

Don't get me started on Goole

A ferw of my in-laws live there and I really can't find anything redeeming to say about it.

We used to shop at Tescos in Goole but when they changed 2 full length aisles to just sell Polish food I refused to ever go in again.
