the unofficially cool MTB drop bar thread

Just nearing the end of a resto on a 1988 Muddy Fox Trailblazer.

Picked her up without drop bars and getting her back to original spec.

Just spent the last couple of days browsing this thread and doing a little reading elsewhere I think a Drop Bar MTB build is on the cards :D

Re:

Raidan73 did you have one of these BITD?

Unfortunately not but I was always a big fan of this and the Specialized Rockcombo BITD

Mine in very franken mode. Yes, I know, different, ugly...

It is made for very long rides (>100kms) this summer.
I'll remove the small chainring, will swap the big ring for an AC Holeshot of 44t, white cable guides, new bushes in the Girvin Vector and probably white bar tape, maybe black. I have new decals for the rear arm, but I like the frame's patina. Brakes are Suntour pedersen, even the front one.

Not period correct (forks from 1993, wheels from '95, new brake levers and bars) but useful. I bought that frame here 3 years ago for about 40€. I'll post some pics when it finished.
