Man, I so want to build these one of these days. I'd like to get an old mid 80's lugged frame and do it up with some nice Cinelli bars and bar ends I have in the parts box.

I built my girlfriend's 1989 Stumpjumper Comp with drop bars as well, but I don't have a pic
 
yep the steel clamps of the deore models can be bent out a little bit. you can actually get away with the original bolts but you will need longer ones to bend the clamps back into shape first

it's an easy way to pull off the conversion but i admit if you ride in the drops a lot they're not in the most convenient place. I want to try out some STI/Ergo style integrated brake/shifters, just need to come across the right deal
 
My 1995 Axis TT. The front end is a little too low. The stem on there is a temporary one off eBay to determine what rise and length I actually need. I'll probably get one made this year.
