Today continues as usual. Dark, dreary, rain, snow and wind. Ten Great Lakes freighters were anchored in Marquette Harbor because the storm was icing them up so you couldn’t get anything in or out. It’s 0C today and raining so they put out to sea. The camera kept not wanting to take a picture because the light was so low, this was at 1PM.
Here is my front yard this morning. Above freezing during the day, below freezing at night. there is enough open water now that high winds will break up the ice so it will all be open.
I'm selling some photography gear - on the non bike classifieds forum if anyone's interested
A Sony A900 Full Frame with 3 lenses - for a bargain to RB members
The ice blew out of our small lake during a wind storm today. No sun but 14C today and the snow is going fast. The wife and I decided to go birding and we had a good variety. We also saw this youngish snapper, probably about 70 years old. It was about soccer ball diameter. They can get about twice as big but people make cooter pie out of them or just kill them so big ones are getting rare. The hard part about making cooter pie is getting the cooter. It was trying to absorb heat from the dark asphalt. Many get squashed this way.
