Bloody Hell I got a set of them off Whiskers back in 2008 for only £45 which were BNIB length 175 & still have the cranks minus the box but have never been mounted on any axle……

I've been lucky to find a few recently which I have been looking for and added to the project list. A Selbach Phantom, A Cyril Wren (built not far from me in Kingston) and a Dave Russell, also down the road in Slough.
I'd still like a 1920's Granby, I almost got one last year... I'd quite like a Carpenter too, but only ever seen one and it was too big.

I’ve a great affinity for Mercian, the superb quality is obvious to see. I bought a very cheap and rough KOM in the mid ‘80s and it’s liveliness and handling outperformed my Record Ace to a degree that was hard to account for (The RRA was a nice frame too).
Steve Elsworth’s frames and his approach to building has always appealed. - Wouldn’t say no to an MKM Ultimate either.
I’d also love a Ti Speedwell. (the forks are here, awaiting!)

Not yet. In my list, there is an open space between Cyril Wren and Dave Yates, and he finishes the filing.Few have mentioned builders who's works are or were part of my stable - Hetchins, Dave Davey, Ron Cooper, Ephgrave, EF Russ, not to mention Carpenter, Maclean, Harry Quinn, Hobbs, Penine, Bates, Bertrand etc etc..heck I think I have or had just about every letter in the alphabet aside X and Z I think.
My view is that the Holy Grail is exactly that - something you are still wishing for, something that keeps you searching for in hope you'll find it one day. Hence you are lurking around forums such as this one, hoping to find it on here.
Anyone knows a builder whos name is X...... perhaps
Not a British builder expert, most of my prior rides have been Raleigh/Carlton all from 1970s.
Kept a Holdsworth Special ('82?) branded as an Irish Harding, and a '72 Holdsworth 'special order' Harding mimicking a Pro. Have no idea the specific builder on either of them.
I own a Clive Stuart, #181, that (to the best of my research) was likely made by Paul Washington, late '60s. Altho' we kicked around Alex Bird for a while as possible. Recently on the road, in the original Yellow racing colourway - it is a quick handler and plenty stiff.
