Sparrowhawk. It took a Blackbird that day, holding it underwater for a while before taking it to the corner to eat.Fantastic shot
And what a creature
Is it a sparrow hawk?
A Merlin?

Man, he knew how to kill!! I had no idea they drown birds.Sparrowhawk. It took a Blackbird that day, holding it underwater for a while before taking it to the corner to eat.
Possibly a lucky happenstance but not for the BlackbirdMan, he knew how to kill!! I had no idea they drown birds.
I know. But there’s a lot of intelligence therePossibly a lucky happenstance but not for the Blackbird
Well, I walked from the house to the greenhouse without noticing anything, until I opened the greenhouse door. That made the Sparrowhawk move and that's when I noticed it. It kept the blackbird underwater for another 30 seconds after that, so at least a 50 second dunking. So I'm more inclined to go with deliberate action, as soaking your own feathers isn't a good thing.I know. But there’s a lot of intelligence there
I think this might be a toad as well. It wasn‘t as patient though. Two snaps taken, seconds apart. Toad would have modeled for hours though

Excellent ! Timing is everything .It was in the pond for long enough for me to get my phone out to video it, as I was about to enter the greenhouse. It wasn't bothered with my presence one bit. Snapshots from a 30second video.
