My father has an Anniversary in the Anniversary specific Amathyst colour. He (or actually I must say I, as my father totally doesn't care about cars) ordered 3 spoke Aero wheels when he bougt it. It looks neat, like an Aero ...in Amathyst. I find the original 15" size great for a normal 9000, but are a bit to small for the Anni with its aero kit. In the 12 years it is in use now it prooved to be a very reliable, economical, versatile... car. It is the car that smart people buy :oops: Not really qualifies for Q-car status, as its 2.3lpt is a great engine, but not one for smoking everyone away at the trafficlights.

An all black 9000 Aero does qualify very well for Q-car status imo. What an inviting interior also ...normal Saab chairs are already about the best, but that Aero interior.... really awesome! A stylish Q-car of about the same era and that does also really great in black: An Alfa 75 America.
 
all these cars above seem a bit modern- and hence they are going to be fairly quick anyhow.

Old cars- thats where its at- goes along nicely with old bikes dont you think?;-)

not as much a Q car as its a bit shinier than the chevette but its still looks old and hence everyone tries undercut me on the left etc. Boy its fun- i love it!!! :D

Paired with minilites 15 inchers and skinny 195 tires.

Now it have 260 hp and 380 nm, outruns the most cars I met in the roads here.

Hmm, I've got a 200hp 9000 CES, and even that's not that clever. Wheelspin in 3rd gear is good fun but it's not exactly handy round corners.

And the torque steer is appalling - you never have to turn out when overtaking in 2nd. Any more BHP would make the performance so unbalanced I've give it back.

But an old 9000 is certainly good for giving the young boys in their Saxos a surprise or two.
 
Remember reading in a car mag BITD about this bloke who had what looked like a metalic green Lancia Delta 1300 hatch back. What it actually was, was a Delta HF Integrale rally car that had been heavily disguised so he could safely park it outside his house :shock:

I loved the Integrale, especially in team colours :D

Learn to drive before dishing out on the 9000...

I had a 900 Aero -88 with 275 horsepowers from the 2litre engine, sure it has some wheelspin but, that's just part of the fun, I've driven 9000's with near 400hk and they are still driveable, and fast as hell...

We also have a 250hk saab 95 aero estate with an automatic gearbox, it goes very well but feels a bit boring compared to the 9000 Aero which is basically an Alfa 164 but with more boot space and a massive TURBO.


keep in mind that your standard model doesn't have the same chassis as the aero ones, and that is something that has to be sorted on the standard version, otherwise it's just a car for old geezers. Here in Sweden Saabs are really value for your money right now, and u could for an example pick an 98-2000´ saab 95 2,3 Aero up for hmm around 3-4k Euros in good condition.
 
Hmmm, it's strange how the rest of the world drives the back wheels when really going to big power outputs.

Oh yes, it's just because they are all wrong and nothing to do with Saab having no development money. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I've had my 9000 for 7 years and enjoy it, but sports car it ain't.
Yes, you can deal with torque steer etc, (I have driven a couple of decades) but they are signs that things are not in balance and that some unfortunate compromises had to be made.

nobody said it would be a sports car, but a bloddy fast big saloon it is with some mods, it's fairly big car to and compared to a mondeo or something else in the same price range and size it is a star.

The 200hk 2,3t model isn't the same as the Aero really. I've had a 97 one to and a 2.0 ltt from 93. But a buffed up 9000 goes like stink, it's just facts.
