Perhaps, it's quite a classic combination.
To some extent, any light or bright colour should work with black components if you want some contrast. Dark greys, or even black will work if you want a stealthy look, but dark blues, greens, purples might look a bit "muddy".
Conversely, dark colours should work really nicely with polished or bright silver components.
